Gameplay

Controls for platformers are quite standard: movement, shooting, jumping, using an ultimate weapon and sharply swerving to the side. This is still a small set of actions, although at the very beginning it will be difficult to immediately get used to it and parry with your movements when everything around you explodes, moves and shakes. Based on my personal feelings, I’ll say that it’s easier to go through on a gamepad, somehow the actions were easier to remember, and it was more pleasant to go through such meat; I caught a wild stupidity from the keyboard and still couldn’t get used to it.

Even ordinary levels can be completed in three ways:

1) without taking damage;

2) without using weapons;

3) without using an ultimate attack.

All this does not affect the opening of new locations, it is necessary to withstand all waves of enemies, you can at least fail all these conditions – they are only needed to obtain achievements and personal sporting interest, so to speak.

There are four zones scattered across the large map, which were mentioned above, with their own set of levels and interesting bosses at the head. The beauty of a varied campaign is that with one set of weapons and stats it’s not too easy to clear the entire map. To successfully complete it, it is recommended to select different strategies that are most effective for a specific zone. And besides, it’s much more fun to try to go through with different objects and look at their effect in battle.

The difficulty of the passage is about 5/10, the game clicks quite quickly. Yes, on bosses and especially difficult levels you will have to die several dozen times to understand the strategy. But once you remember fixed attacks, bosses are easier to defeat. If you are an experienced player of this genre, everything that happens will take you about four hours and most likely you will not remember the gameplay. However, this will be a good gaming experience and an addition to your collection of completed games. And for those who rarely indulge in this, welcome to the world of pixel meat, overacting and color epilepsy.

Graphics

Say what you will about the gameplay or the plot, but the visual component is decisive for such games. And these demons certainly succeeded in their visual style. Bright acid colors, luminous and blinking areas – everything ripples and jumps before the eyes – not every gaming eye is able to withstand such a dance of shades.

But Hell itself is shown in an interesting way, and I want to look at the various locations longer.

What catches the eye the most are the boss designs; the game artists did their best here. Well, you must admit, fighting a huge bone demon, consisting of a ram’s skull on a long spine and with small bones like wings, is very, very entertaining.

Music is the pearl of the whole game, even more than the delicious 8-bit style, and that’s a fact. Each sound is filled with energy and infernality – all this ignites from the very first seconds of the battle and does not let go of this excited state for a long time.
